Q1: What is the main difference between SL-90 (PU) and SL-003 (Silicone) self-leveling sealants?

A: SL-90 is a polyurethane-based sealant with ultra-high elasticity (800%+ elongation), excellent chemical resistance, and ideal for roads, industrial floors, and chemical environments. SL-003 is a silicone-based sealant with superior UV, fuel, and temperature resistance, making it perfect for airport runways, marine applications, and exterior joints.

Q2: Can these sealants be used on vertical surfaces?

A: Self-leveling sealants are designed for horizontal or slightly sloped surfaces. For vertical joints, we recommend using non-sag sealants from our construction or automotive series.

Q3: What is the maximum joint width recommended?

A: Self-leveling sealants are ideal for joints up to 50mm wide. For wider joints, please consult our technical team for substrate preparation and application recommendations.

Q4: How should the substrate be prepared before application?

A: Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, grease, rust, old sealant residue, and loose particles. Use mechanical cleaning (grinding, brushing) or solvent wiping if necessary. Proper preparation ensures maximum adhesion.

Q5: What is the curing time and when can traffic resume?

A: – Skin-free time: 2–4 hours

  • Full cure: 24–72 hours depending on temperature and humidity

  • Light foot traffic: After 12 hours

  • Heavy/vehicle traffic: After full cure (3–7 days)

Q6: Can these sealants be applied in cold or wet conditions?

A: Ideal application temperature is 5–35°C. Avoid application on wet surfaces or during rain. Low temperatures may slow curing; ensure substrates are dry and above 5°C.
